Corberán: “At a club like Valencia CF, you have to give it your all”
The Valencia CF coach analyses the draw away to Real Betis
Valencia CF coach Carlos Corberán spoke after the 1-1 draw away to Real Betis on the final day of the LaLiga season.
Competitiveness
“It was our obligation, responsibility, and hope to try to finish the season in the best way we could. A draw wasn't the objective we wanted; we wanted to finish the season with the three points, but the team competed with the level of commitment that being a Valencia CF fan and representing this club always entails.”
The season
“I remember the essence of our job, which is always based on our fans. A set of fans that had a tough time in the first half of the season, a fanbase and a community that also experienced the consequences of an episode like the DANA tragedy, which left the city deeply affected, and our job has always been to work for them, to represent our club. At a club like Valencia CF, you have to give it your all; you can't be relegated, you can't be in that position. I highly value the effort and commitment of these players who have dedicated themselves to the cause from day one. Thanks to the fans, we have also been able to achieve the primary objective for which we came.”
Next season
“We must always learn from our mistakes to improve next season. It's our responsibility. Now we begin a period of analysis, reflection, and conclusions, and we will begin to lay the foundations for next season. Our responsibility is to learn from those mistakes, insist on the things we've done well, and improve Valencia CF's competitive capacity to the maximum extent possible, given the resources available.”
